I have been away from my blog for awhile but I am glad to be back.I wanted my first new post to be about an amazing experience. My new bride BillieJo and I were married at Graceland on August,18,2007.It was the end of Elvis week.We were there all week,I guess we honeymooned first, then got married...a new tradition....
I want to applaud the folks at Graceland,Elvis would be so proud. The whole year it took to plan, the event coordinator ,Patty Bennet, was at our disposal for anything we needed. She was wonderful and made the whole thing so easy. The Chapel is so lovely, tucked in the woods beside Graceland, and yes we could feel Elvis's spirit there. The ceremony was wonderful ,it was conducted by David Bayer,a wonderful minister who has performed many weddings at Graceland,we were number 702 for him.We did not have time for a rehearsel, but we did not have to worry,he led us perfectly through the whole thing.
The photographer was also great, his name was Dana Stine,he did an awesome job posing us perfectly around the chapel and in front of the mansion...He had the pictures to us within a week...amazing!!! I will post some pics!!
We had our wedding dinner at the best barbaque spot in Memphis...Marlowes right on EP Blvd. They did a great job, they put us in an awesome room, surrounded by Elvis, his music playing, movies on the TV,a great atmosphere. The food and service was amazing.
The whole week was amazing.Unforgettable.I cant think of a better place to exchange vows with the woman I love so much.Elvis means so much to us,he is pretty much the reason we met,I was doing a show on his birthday, she came and we started dating about a week later. We were so happy to be able to Pledge our Love for each other just steps away from the place Elvis called home,we know he was there with us and we will always cherish his memory and our memories of our wedding at Graceland....

Yes, Elvis is related to Col. John Bell Hood . Minnie Mae (Hood) Presley was born to William Hood and Mary Warren. And How I know this is I am from the same families My great great grandmother was Sarah (Hood) Hardwick she was born in 1820 to Andrew Hood and Mary Polly Cain. Andrew was the son of Gen.Andrew Allen Hood and Massa Sudduth. The Hood family was from Greenup County,Kentucky and goes back in to Pennsyvania when Jasper Hood came to this county,Then some migrated to Virginia and Kentucky, Sarah Married William Hardwick December 2, 1846 in Greenup County,Kentucky and she was married 1st to John Akins in 1836 in Greenup County,Kentucky . Now if you want info on the Hood family you can email me at carolynedwards@suddenlink.net
